Getting back to business: exploring Cornell collaborators

[Hiatus in writing because of my family's call for assistance - good to know this Dream is here to come back to]

PROGRESS REPORT:
1) ECO-LODGE:
Kalay Mordock and I have an appointment March 11th with Tom Ward, Director of Cornell's Hospitality Entrepreneurship Center, and Mark Milstein, Director of the Johnson School's Global Forum on Sustainable Enterprise. The purpose is to begin exploring possibilities for students with entrepreneurial and/or eco-hospitality interests to work with Level Green to create ground-level plans for a upscale Eco-Lodge of the quality that these two programs represent. Will report following meeting.

2) MBA TEAM, volunteering as part of Community Impact, a student run organization operating out of the Johnson School at Cornell University.

A] Team members include
* Hannah Choi: University of Virginia (Chemical Engineering) 2001; professional experience in Bonn, Brussels, Kigali, Rwanda, and the US (MBA 2011)
* Surjeet Patnaik: National Institute of Technology, Jaipur, India (Chemical Engineering) 2004; Stanford University (MS Environmental Eingineering) 2005; professional experience in Qatar, Singapore, Meelbourne, and Antwerp (MBA May 2011)
* Samuel Sun-Yiu Lee: Simon Fraser University (Business Administration, Finance) 2006; progressional experience in Honog Kong and London (MBA May 2011)
* Rahul Gupta: Universityof Michigan (Actuarial Mathematics, Accounting, Finance) 2003; professional experience New York and Detroit (MBA May 2011)

B] 1st meeting mid-November; visited the Farm early December; agreed to focus in on most readily-accessible components of the Project as per the following Agreement: SERVICES DEFINED:
• Submission of Project Report for the planned portion of the eco-lodging campus. Report to include the following components:
a) Executive summary (page and half inquiry letter)
b) Background (to get readers interested)
c) Financial Projections
d) Recommendations
• Financial projections
• Marketing Ideas (how to get people)
• Powerpoint Presentation to Level Green Board

The report and financial projections will focus on the 1) barn, 2) driveway, 3) parking lot, and 4) trailhead.

SERVICES PERFORMANCE SCHEDULE:
- Mid-term review on March 14th
- Final proposal and presentation to be submitted on April 21st
- Bi-weekly meetings starting on Jan 26th, 2010 until the final proposal and presentation submission
